Cheney Music

Music and the arts are often the first things to come under pressure when school budgets are squeezed. Here at Cheney School we value music just as much as the core subjects. Our school shows are a joy to watch and a wonderful participation experience for students across the full spectrum of our diverse school. 

We aim to be the biggest school user of the County Music Service, breaking down barriers and making music accessible to all.  We already have a fantastic offer to students through our group lessons and our music scholarship programme, launched in 2025. We want to take this even further by providing access to individual music tuition, regardless of price or previous experience. 

What could your donation to the Music department do? 

£5 will buy sheet music 

£15 per month will fund group music lessons for a year

£30 provides two music stands

£50 per month will fund 1 student through the music scholarship for a year

Aspirational target, £600 could fund a new electronic drum kit
