It has been a busy week in the music department (not including our Summer Concert which took place last night—more to follow next week!). Last Thursday Mrs O'Neil and a contingent of singers performed in the chorus of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. They joined students from other local schools and worked with members of the Gabrieli Consort for the performance which took place at Radley College. The students showed true Cheney spirit in how they attempted new songs on the day and the evening event (which included authentic baroque instruments) was enjoyed by all.

 

Following Thursday's success, members of our Main Choir then joined with the Oxford Bach Choir for a performance at the new Schwarzman Centre on Saturday. This included works from a range of styles including a piece by Eric Whitacre who was there on the day. It was a brilliant experience for our students and we look forward to more singing adventures next year.
