Trips and Extracurricular Activities
At Cheney we place great emphasis on educating the whole person. We are incredibly proud of our extensive offering for trips and extracurricular activities. Clubs and activities create a holistic approach to education and are just as important as the academic work we do. We offer crochet, rock climbing, E-sports Korean, chemistry and puzzle clubs - the list goes on! We believe we offer the most extensive list from an Oxford State school (disclaimer; this is our opinion).
At the end of your child’s time with us they will leave with their results, but will also have built memories, confidence, friends and skills from the extracurricular activities they took part in; Axe throwing at Youlbury, a regular trip for year 8, is arguably more memorable than your child's last maths lesson.
As a fully comprehensive school we strive to ensure clubs and trips are accessible to all. The teachers and volunteers put on the clubs in their spare(!) time and we do our utmost to keep trip costs to a minimum.
What could your donation toward extracurricular activities do?

A larger donation will help us subsidise the cost of a trip to China for our Mandarin students in 2027/28.
