Senior Basketball County Finals

A massive well done to our 3 senior teams who represented Cheney in their respective county finals on Friday. We are all really proud of your efforts!

Our Year 11 girls worked incredibly hard to chip away at The Swan School's hard earned lead in the second half but in the end came up just short, losing 49-39. Huge congratulations to the Swan girls!

The Year 11 boys met The Cherwell School in their final and showed unbelievable amounts of heart and determination to reduce a 14 point deficit to just 1 point in the 4th quarter, again falling just short in a match that could have gone either way. Full time score 69-64. Again congratulations to all of The Cherwell boys.

Our last final of the day saw our Sixth Form girls come up against D’overbroecks. The team showed real maturity and tactical awareness to grind out a 50–38 win! Thank you to D’overbroecks for a great match as always.

Special mention to our three Year 13’s Andrea, Isla and Zanna who finish off their Cheney basketball with a 100% win record in county finals!
