Last Saturday afternoon, 70 former Cheney students from the 60s and 70s met in the school library (which used to be their Assembly Hall)!

Teas, coffees and biscuits were served by a member of staff (and also a former student), as old friends caught up and reminisced about their time at Cheney. Old uniforms were on display and the former students bought in school photos to share, and even their school reports!

Mr Pavey gave a speech telling the alumni all about Cheney and Cheney pupils now, before setting off the alarm twice(!) as he lead former students around the school so that they could see their old form rooms.

Former student and Auntie of one of the firefighters that lost their life in the Bicester fire, gave an impassioned speech, raising money for the firefighters' fund that she has set up to help firefighter families on behalf of her nephew.

On a beautiful sunny Saturday, it was a great convivial atmosphere and really lovely to meet and chat with our alumni.

Another alumni event for students of the 80s will take place next April—to find out more email alumni@cheneyschool.org
