Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Practice Expedition
BackA huge well done to our incredible Year 9 students who recently completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition in the beautiful surroundings of Bampton and Faringdon. The group tackled the challenge with real determination, making the most of the glorious weather and enjoying the stunning scenery - especially the carpets of bluebells that lit up the woodlands along their route.
While some clearly overpacked and felt the strain of heaving their backpacks around Oxfordshire, every student showed resilience and teamwork. There were flimsily held-up tents (thankfully it did not rain!), an impressive array of pastas and noodles cooked on tiny stoves - some delicious, others more... experimental - and marshmallows toasted over the fire as the sun set.
They even managed a decent night's sleep in their tents, despite a few snores!
It was a weekend full of adventure, laughter, and learning—and we couldn’t be
prouder of the spirit and camaraderie they showed. Well done, Year 9!
Thank you from Ms Oke and Mr Vasy.
