Author Tia Fisher visits Cheney

We were delighted to welcome Tia Fisher to nearly 200 Cheney year 9 students via video link on Tuesday 3rd June. Tia is the author of one of our Cheney Choice titles, Crossing The Line, and she delivered an eloquent, passionate talk about the book, which is her debut novel. 

Crossing The Line explores the life of Erik whose life is blighted by the issues around County Lines exploitation. The story is directly based on the experiences of the son of a friend of Tia’s and it is told in verse format; it has proved extremely popular with the students who have already read it and I strongly recommend any student in year 9 or above to read it too. 

Tia’s talk was honest and inspiring and there was an audible gasp when the students learnt about the derivation of the narrative.
