Congratulations and thank you to all the performers and staff team working on Cheney's Summer Music Show. It was fantastic to see the musical talent on offer from orchestral, string and jazz performances to soloists, duos, trios, groups, the Youth Choir, bands and K-pop dancers!

The audience enjoyed  'Wallace and Gromit' performed by the orchestra to open the show, Carmen, and playing out the show out with 'The Dam Busters March'. Cheney Strings performed the theme tune 'Mission Impossible', and the Jazz Band 'Chameleon' and 'Take the A Train.' We saw a Year 7 duo perform the musical number 'Popular' and another year 7 duo playing 'Pavane' on cello and piano. The choir, amongst other numbers, sang a madrigal version of 'Wannabe', with other singing groups performing modern pop songs back to the  classic 'Thank You for the Music'.

Thank you to all involved, and also to everyone who donated to Cheney’s new Music Scholarship Fund on the night, giving students who would otherwise not be able to afford them, the chance to take part in private instrumental lessons and perform in such shows.
Five year 7 students have just started learning with five more spaces available for the new intake of students in September.

If you would like to donate to this scheme, please contact Mrs O’Neil who can give you further information.
