Year Eight Museum Council Create Cabinet of Climate Hope!
Back
Since November, Year Eights in the Museum Council have been working with the Natural History Museum and the Museum of Climate Hope to create a brand new exhibition at the Natural History Museum!
The students first visited the museum, where they were introduced to Bill Finnegan and Anya Gleizer from the Museum of Climate Hope, and were introduced to the concepts of resilience, transformation and adaptation in the context of how living things evolve and survive in the face of change. They then explored the museum to pick out exhibits which they felt fulfilled these categories.
Back at school, they then created mock-ups of displays based on their chosen creatures and themes, which have now been installed in the Natural History Museum. These can be viewed during opening hours at the museum and a launch is planned in the coming weeks!
