French Trip to Rouen

Last week Cheney staff took 41 Year 9 and Year 10 French students to Rouen, Normandy, for a linguistic and cultural visit.
 
We enjoyed a walking tour of the town centre, interviewed locals in the sunny seaside town of Honfleur, and tasted fine French confectionery at the Confiserie. Our afternoons were spent at the French in Normandy school, our base for the week, where students took part in escape rooms, quizzes, and comic strip writing as part of fully immersive French classes. In the evenings students enjoyed family dinners with their host families, offering opportunity to practice what they had learnt during that day. We could not have been more proud of our students who fully embraced French culture during our stay - especially those braving snails from a local hypermarché!
