Year 8 Student Receptionists

Historically, Year 8 students at Cheney have enjoyed helping our wonderful receptionists and office staff with a variety of jobs around the school, amd we're pleased to say that bringing back this opportunity for Year 8s following several years' hiatus is working really well!  It helps our students understand how school operates behind the scenes (because we all know that these people are some of the hardest working people in the school), whilst providing helpful support, and company to our Receptionists.

The Student Receptionist spends Period 2, 3 and 4 with our receptionists in the main reception. They undertake a variety of activities, such as, but not limited to, delivering cooking ingredients or clarinets dropped off by parents to reception, assisting with reprographics and transporting non-confidential materials around school. Staff can book the student receptionist to help organise our uniform cupboard, help our PE and Art technicians prep materials for lessons - the possibilities are endless! Arthur was even spotted yesterday helping our new PE technician with the photocopier and really enjoyed the whole Student Receptionist experience! When the students are not helping out around the school they complete their work on Google classroom or read.
